Witney would really benefit from grabbing something in the town that families could do. Sadly the leisure centre is not that great and doesn't really offer much 'fun' but it would be brilliant if there were a trampoline park or soft play or bowling alley or similar on one of the industrial estates on the outskirts. Even better would be if the big empty unit on marriots was turned into and arcade type place for teenagers. It could have any combination of shake bar, pool tables, arcades, air hockey, table football, karaoke booths, darts boards..... Just a reasonably priced, safe space for teenagers to hang out after school and weekends.

And now for the Big Conversation!
This is your opportunity to talk about "Visit Witney"... Why visitors should come to our town, what's nice about Witney and what is not, what could be done to improve the town for visitors and give them an even better experience, the ways that residents might benefit (or for that matter not benefit), how Witney compares with other similar towns... The floor is entirely yours!
We have deliberately not started with lots of photographs and descriptions of the best-known Witney sites and sights, because we do not wish to lead the conversation... but wish the direction to come from you. So you are very welcome to add any and all photographs etc to your posts to help make your points, and we will build galleries to illustrate how we all see Witney as the conversation develops.
To help keep things as easy to follow as possible, we have set out some 'categories', and invite your posts, and comments on those posts, exactly as you please.
And now, over to you... Please log in and kick off!

Rush Bar Sports does provide an outlet that caters for some of this but clearly needs to do more to let people know it exists despite being in the town since 1988! www.rush-witney.com but i would also agree far more leisure options such as soft play / trampoline etc is needed but the lack of this atm is down to the economics of both creating amd operating one but as the town continues to grow we need more youth activity outlets to be developed. The council could certainly help in this regards by offering space and far better terms than currently available to potential operators to help get these type of venues off the ground.
I think this would be great, sadly the teens always get missed out, people complain they are hanging around the streets, but all of the youth facilities and centers have gone, they're too young for bars and pubs so they are literally left out in the cold. It would be fantastic to have a place they could go.
